Welcome to My Disordered Assets

Come along on my wish-come-true discovery as I learn how my disordered assets became my discovered assets.

The Blog

My disordered assets weren't always assets.

Every day, the small child inside wistfully, desperately wished to be organized and feel the confidence of knowledge. My hope of ‘figuring-it-out’ never faded despite constant reminders of inabilities and lack of discipline to ‘apply-myself’.

In 2018, after five decades of making wishes, the seeds started to grow. I discovered my disordered, impaired ways were in fact assets; I just didn’t know how to leverage them with each other. Now strengths from my three neurotypes work to support each other’s impairments. This synergy brings harmony and lift to open up learning in faster and easier ways. I’ve discovered what was wrong with me, was actually what’s right with me…I needed to learn how they work together.

Disordered Assets is my place to reflect on and explore what I’m learning. I hope you’ll make similar discoveries of your own and include me whenever you have questions along the way.

I’ve always gone out of my way to make others happy. I usually offer help and don’t wait for them to ask.

I’m in my late 40s and struggling with a new ADHD diagnosis. I’ve been messy and late most of my life, but I’ve also worked hard to make it up to everyone. Lately it seems I can’t get back on track no matter how hard I try, and it’s stressing me out.
