Cut through the volumes of ADHD info on the internet with the resources I’ve found to be the most helpful on my ADHD journey.
I was lucky to land in an ADHD specialist’s office who worked with Dr. William Dodson years ago. My specialist curated the most relevant content from a vast marketplace filled with reams of information. He spoon-fed the right stuff week after week depending on where I was in learning about ADHD and my specific ADHD. I eventually built my own foundation to source and sort excellent bits out of from the good and bad.
If something isn’t on this list, it doesn’t mean it isn’t good. It might be that it’s new to me, or it might be that it’s good in general, but not specifically for me. I hope you’ll make similar discoveries of your own. Send any great finds that’ve been helpful for you, and include me whenever you have questions along the way.
ADHD pulls us in and out of overwhelm on the regular. Looking for helpful content after our diagnosis adds to the load. Sorting through all the ADHD info out there is worse than the number of browser tabs we’ve left open.
Below is the list of ADHD books I’ve actually read by listening to them on Audible, then buying the paperback (or if necessary the hardback) as a workbook to mark up with rainbow highlighters. Since there’s more than 19,000 ADHD books according to Goodreads, the list below is just to get you started.
I bought most of my ADHD books because I heard the author interviewed on a podcast. Many of the podcasts I follow aren’t focused on ADHD. I might be the only one since Podchaser says there are 2,000 ADHD shows and 72,000 episodes. The list below includes ADHD of shows and episodes recommended by friends, family and colleagues I trust. Let me know when you come across good ones, and why you liked them.
